Recollect 2 was woven using a polychrome Summer and Winter technique. Pattern blocks were threaded symmetrically and treadled using a random integer sequence generator. This shifted the blocks at random, preventing any discernible repeat along the length of the cloth.

This work was woven in Portland, Oregon While I was Artist in Residence at the Museum of Contemporary Craft. Watch a video of the finished work here. Read more about the residency and the process of making the work on ArtClothText

This work was commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Craft in partnership with the Pacific Northwest College of Art. The work was exhibited in Laurie Herrick: Weaving Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow May 14 to July 30, 2011 and at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, followed by the College of the Redwoods in Eureka, California in 2011/2012.
